Over the past few months, I’ve been working with a volunteer organization to help elect progressive candidates in local city council races from Colorado, to Texas, to New York.
Every Sunday morning, I shake off Zoom fatigue from my work week and sit down with my coffee to team up with a group of brilliant, creative people. On any given weekend, this might include a TV producer, a film school executive, a brand strategist, an attorney, an executive coach, a political consultant, a writer, a graphic designer, an instructional designer, a web designer, and more.
From rewriting web copy and helping research opponents to crafting social media content or offering tips for creating videos and asking for donations, we’re pitching in and cheering on everyday Americans who are inspired to run for office.
We have seen candidates face sexism and racism for trying to join the boys’ club in their local races. But, we’ve also seen a few candidates we supported win their races this week.
And there are more to come. Progress may not happen overnight, but it’s coming.
And we’re here to help.
