One of the common challenges I’ve seen during prior campaigns were voters unaware that an election was happening. And in Central Texas, every vote matters.
Previous local elections in Williamson and Travis County have come down to just 2 votes and 4 votes. That means your date night, household, or book club could swing an entire city or school board election, but only if you show up and vote. Pay attention to every election date, and share the information with your community.
Leander Texas Election Dates
In Leander, Texas, one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, voters will have the potential to vote 8 times between November 2025 and November 2026.
First, the Special Election for Leander City Council Place 3 took place on November 4th, and is now going to a runoff in December 2025.
Vote for City Council Place 3 (December 1-9, or 13): Natomi Blair for Leander
Next, there will be a Special Election for Mayor and City Council Place 4 in January and February.
Vote for Leander Mayor (January 26 – February 7th): Na’Cole Thompson for Leander
Finally, the Texas Democratic Primary is in March to choose Democratic Senate, House, and County candidates. And the General Election for those races, as well as Leander ISD Board of Trustees is in November. Any of those elections could also go to a runoff.
Build Awareness Now
Even voters who are highly engaged in politics are unlikely to expect this many opportunities to vote, and the general public will have no idea. That’s why it’s important right now to build awareness about what election dates are coming and which candidates will be on the ballot.
Here’s a quick summary of election dates we know today. Put them on your calendar now, and make a plan to vote. Remind your friends and family to save these dates, too. We need everyone to show up and be a voter, every time.
